Jenny and David at The Lake Lure Inn

The last thing David expected to find on an offshore drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico was a beautiful woman. That woman, who quickly caught his eye, soon captured his heart.

But since the two worked for the same company — Shell — their courtship proceeded slowly.

Jenny is a reservoir engineer, and this was her first helicopter flight to an oil platform. David, a facilities engineer, was assigned to lead her on a tour of the facilities. Back on land, at lunch at La Pavion, Jenny found her interest sparked by David. He was regaling everyone about his upcoming trip to Thailand.

A few weeks later, David stopped by her office to share tales of his amazing Thai trip, including one about a the mischievous monkey that bit him. As they laughed, they recognized each other as free spirits with a taste for adventure. They knew their attraction to each other could become something more.

They shared dinner, dancing, and evenings out with friends. After enjoying Mardi Gras with friends, David took Jenny on an elegant date in New Orleans: dinner at Adolfo’s, followed by live jazz at the historic Snug Harbor.

As their love deepened, the couple decided to vacation in Vietnam last May. They saw the magnificent limestone outcrops in the East China sea. According to legend, a dragon swam along the mountains, knocking a path with its tail all the way, leaving beautiful islands. Dave treated Jenny to a five-star hotel stay and a romantic dinner — then dropped to one knee and proposed.

Their wedding was held at the Lake Lure Inn and Spa. Guests who arrived Friday night were treated to a beach party with a bonfire and s’mores. For those who don’t know, Lake Lure is where the movie “Dirty Dancing” was filmed, and the happy couple got to stay in the “Dirty Dancing” suite, where Patrick Swayze stayed before kissing Jennifer Grey.

The joyful couple wed at the historic Inn. Afterward, family and friends joined them for a lavish buffet dinner and an evening of dancing.

Our team, headed by of Franklin Adams, was delighted by the opportunity to photograph another Weekley wedding. And I have to say, it featured the most ripped member of bridal couple I have ever seen.
