Cupid must have been working overtime to unite Meredith and Shawn!
Why is that?
Because Meredith is a beautiful nanny from Charlotte, and Shawn is a strapping policeman-in-training from Germany. And they found each other, by chance, in Charlotte, N.C.
Meredith wasn’t really looking for a date. She was just riding shotgun with a girl friend, who was interested in someone else.
“I went with my friend Rebecca to meet up with a guy she was interested in at his apartment to hang out,” Rebecca said. “Shawn was his roommate. Since that day Shawn and I have been inseparable.”
What more is there to say? When you know it’s right, it’s right.
Meredith’s family is Irish and German. When Meredith and her family decided to go sight-seeing in Germany, Shawn came along. But Shawn had something more important than sight-seeing on his mind.
“He proposed at the bottom of the snowy alps in Garmish,” said Meredith, who of course, said yes. Meredith had not yet met Shawn’s mother, so they called her with the happy news. Meredith met Shawn’s family in person, then the two went out to celebrate their engagement.
“We got massages and then went out for an amazing dinner,” Meredith said. “I will never forget their schnitzel!”
The couple decided to marry at Daniel Stowe, one of my two favorite venues, with friends and family traveling from near and far. What was the best thing about their wedding?
“The best thing about the wedding was walking down to marry my best friend,” Meredith said. “It was wonderful having all the love and support from family and friends — and seeing his reaction, of course!”
After their beautiful garden wedding, Shawn and Meredith spent their honeymoon in the Cayman Islands.
