Lauren and John Allen met as many couples do: in college.
Both were students North Carolina State University. From the moment John Allen got to know Lauren, she captured the most tender place within his heart.
Who wouldn’t love Lauren? Stunning enough to be a runway model, Lauren draws attention wherever she goes, but does not seek the limelight. Lady-like and remarkably demure, Lauren adores children, and values family above all else.
As John Allen and Lauren left their college years behind, they launched their careers. John Allen began managing construction projects, and Lauren became the beloved nanny of a pair of children for a local family.
John Allen had no doubts: he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Lauren. He decided to ask for her hand over the holidays.
“I proposed in our house in front of the tree on Christmas Eve,” John Allen said. “I brought her over to the house to exchange gifts before we went to church with my family.
I was lucky enough to meet the two of them at Lauren’s brother Michaels wedding to the lovely Kylie in the fall.
The wedding was extra-special because it was on the exact fifth anniversary of our first date,” John Allen said. “When picking the wedding day, the anniversary, January 25th, luckily fell on a Saturday.”
After a rehearsal dinner at Myers Park Country Club, the couple wed in Saint Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church. The sacred ceremony included all the rich tradition and beautiful rituals of a Greek Orthodox Wedding.
Following the ceremony, friends and family celebrated at an elegant reception atone of my all time favorite reception locations, The Club at Longview.
Lauren and John Allen began their married life in an ocean-front paradise, spending a week in Turks and Caicos.
